The idea is pretty simple, power from water

There are a lot of people making mini water generators
Okay, so I'm pretty stoked about this project I've got brewing for the spring! I'm actually building a water wheel right in the stream behind my house to generate some sweet, clean power. The plan is to get it spinning and then figure out what fun, slightly unconventional thing to do with the juice. I'm torn between going full mad scientist and using it to run a small crypto mining rig—imagine, free, green crypto!—or maybe setting up a remote woods and stream monitoring station. For the monitoring station, I'd probably be looking at some ruggedized Raspberry Pis, a bunch of environmental sensors (temperature, humidity, water flow, maybe even a tiny camera), all running on a custom Python script for data logging and maybe a Flask app for a web interface to see the real-time stats. Either way, the core power setup will involve the water wheel itself, connected to a small generator (like a brushed DC motor acting as a dynamo), a charge controller, and a decent deep-cycle battery bank to store the power. Should be a fun build, and definitely a unique way to put that stream to work!Â
