Casting

Sometimes you just gotta melt some metal!

3d printed PLA owl, with sand cast aluminum GKW mix. I messed up the 3d print though, it was not able to be removed without disturbing the sand, I needed to do a split casting, that is why the face is funky. Also need to dial in the DIY petrobond sand. I found my mix of 400 mesh sand, bentonite, and saw cutting oil to be smokey and not great for details. Maybe mineral oil next?

A bronze cast ax head is done as well. It sucks pretty bad so I am not posting pictures until i make it look decent.
